The Me You Never Knew

I love shirts fresh from the dryer
I love when my sisters ask for hugs
I love bare tree limbs that cling to clouds,
and the way childrens' feet
always seem to be dirty
I love a baby's toothless grin
I love hawks in my sky
I love family stories told over and over again
Sometimes you just can't get enough
I love lawn chairs when they're occupied
I love hot springs in the snow
I love birdhouses that never serve their purpose
Guitars, picks, and amplifiers too
I love a good beer for no good reason
I love old country tunes
with no hope for a happy ending
I love gray hair, and owls, and laughter
They all feel like home to me
