When a Wine-O Takes a Beer-Snob Home

Coats gets thrown on furniture
Half of the candles are lit
Music is argued, not danced to
Deep space; the conversation of choice
Rain is heard, yet never seen
Food is forgotten in favor of flesh
Passion looks angry, almost violent
Memory will always be a bit fuzzy
Protection is used, but discarded
Sleep happens on top of the sheets

Poetry from A Bar in Brooklyn by Shane Windham
